
On December 14th, 2024, the Conference on Digital Empowerment and Human Settlements Environment was grandly opened at the “Harry Potter” Castle of Hebei Academy of Fine Arts located in Shijiazhuang, China. This conference brought together hundreds of experts and scholars from various fields such as higher education, architecture, planning, landscape architecture, environmental science, natural resources, and information technology from across the country to engage in in-depth exchanges and discussions on the latest applications, challenges, and future development trends of digital technology and human settlement environment. More than 500 guests attended the conference.

Wang Hao, an academician of the CAE Member and an expert in hydrology and water resources, delivered a video address to the conference, proposing that scientific researchers and educators should pay more attention to interdisciplinary cooperation, strengthen the combination of theory and practice, and constantly explore the road to building a living environment that is in line with national conditions in the face of the new requirements of the digital intelligence era. At the same time, he called for close attention to the development of new technologies, so that the achievements of human settlement environment construction can better benefit all people and achieve social equity and sustainable development.

In the keynote speech, Academician Kuznetsov Victor of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, as well as experts from the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design and several universities, shared their thoughts on empowering design with digital intelligence technology from different perspectives. They also discussed the application of digital intelligence technology in fields such as fashion design, innovative inheritance of architectural culture, urban renewal, and new explorations in art and design teaching in universities in the new era.


The two-day conference held multiple themed forums. Scholars from universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, Tongji University, Central Academy of Fine Arts, and University of Pennsylvania, as well as experts from the China Society of Natural Resources, China Architecture Design & Research Group, and several well-known planning and design institutions, focus on popular topics such as architecture and urban development, urban renewal and design, beautiful living and landscape creation, innovative development of landscape architecture, and rural revitalization, as well as cutting-edge fields such as art design, public art, and cultural cities. They share research results and advanced experience, engage in in-depth thinking collisions and exchange discussions. The organizer also organized a Youth Talent Forum for doctoral and master’s students from various universities, adding vitality and highlights to the conference.

This conference is jointly organized by Hebei Academy of Fine Arts and the Yuanye Awards Organizing Committee, and has received widespread attention and support from the industry.
