
The history of disciplines at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, dates back to the 1950s. The architecture program was launched in 1980, the Department of Architecture was established in 1984, and the School was formally founded in 2006. To date, the School has cultivated more than 2,000 professionals in the field of architecture.
The School comprises five departments: Department of Architecture, Department of Urban and Rural Planning, Department of Landscape Architecture, Department of Historic Building Conservation, and Department of Design Studies. Through long-term disciplinary development and construction, the School has built a high-quality, multi-level comprehensive talent training system and disciplinary platform covering undergraduate programs, master’s programs, doctoral programs and postdoctoral research stations. It has also developed a number of distinctive superior disciplinary research directions and achieved fruitful academic outcomes.
