The Department of Environmental Design is affiliated with the School of Design and Architecture, Zhejiang University of Technology. It is mainly responsible for talent cultivation and academic administration of the Environmental Art Design track under the Art Design major, and assists master’s supervisors in training postgraduate students in the research direction of Environmental Art Design within Design Art Studies.
The department has carried out effective reforms in talent training by implementing the tutorial system and the Annual Competition Program. It has guided students to win numerous awards in various competitions. Focusing on university-enterprise cooperation, the department has built multiple industry-university-research platforms, providing students with opportunities for cognitive internships, design competitions, graduation design projects, and practical design research topics. These initiatives enhance students’ practical capabilities and employability with remarkable results, fostering them into application-oriented design professionals.
